I thought this book was pretty good as far as giving practical advice and applications for the knots it talks about. It's a quick read and fairly easy to follow. However, the Kindle version is a bit weird. Illustrations tend not to sync up with text and it tends to jump around if you try to go back and forth trying to see what the author is talking about. Plus the illustrations are really sketchy and low in detail. Those two factors made the book hard to follow. I would recommend it to people who would like to know more about knots and applications for them. I even learned a new know from this book.Product details

Top Seven Knots and the Use of the Windlass eBook Mors Kochanski Reviews
Very informative easy read you can learn amass of info, and if you practice you will become a master. Good luck.
Ordered this through and have read it many times. The part on the windlass is a bit complicated but definitely worthwhile if you plan on long-term camping or wilderness living. The Jam knot was the best.
This book is not worth the money...even though it only cost$1.90. The illustrations are horrible and the instructions for tying the knots are very vague. References to pages and illustrations are not obvious.Very disappointing.
Very basic knots for any purpose, not just camping or bush crafting. The windlass is very simple, once you learn how to thread the cordage correctly. If done properly this is a very powerful and capable method of moving heavy loads-just don't be in a hurry to have it done.
Illustrations poor and not enough detail in the knot instructions. I was surprised as I find his YouTube material very good. He certainly knows what he is talking about, but this presentation is lacking.
Very concise, very focused, very much a needed survival skill. Ignore this knowledge at your own risk. Better to know and not need then need and not know.
I'm an experienced climber and sailor, and I was a Boy Scout Pioneering merit badge counselor for many years. I know knots and rope work very well. The illustrations in this pamplet are mostly useless, and the descriptions of the various knots and their uses almost as bad.
Constructing windlasses from natural materials and using them for real work is extrordinarily difficult and requires a great deal of experience. The material provided here is vague, incomplete and thoroughly inadequate.
